1 Month down

I can't believe a month of school has gone by. It feels like school just barely started. I have this problem with starting school where it takes me a little while to get acclimated to school. Now that we're in about a month I can start really getting into it. This is probably a bad habit. I'll need to break it next year if I'm in the accounting program. I don't think they take it easy for you the first month... haha. Oh well. In other news, the Jazz are rolling well. I have decided my reliance on the Jazz for happiness is not healthy. All to often I'm ecstatic when they win and depressed when they lose. That can't be good for my long term happiness. I should probably be changing that attitude. It does feel good to have that invested in a team. Hopefully we make a good run and get the 2 seed. I don't think we're catching LA... GO JAZZ

The birthday weekend

Last weekend was my 22nd birthday on Martin Luther King Day. It was nice to have a long weekend to celebrate my birthday instead of having to go to school and do homework. I felt to reward myself by not doing anything related to school from after my last class Thursday at 10:45 am until my first class Tuesday at 9:30. That turned out to be a great decision with the Jazz getting a great and mildly surprising win from the unlikliest of heroes... Sundiata Gaines!! Sick buzzer beater to slay LeBron and the Cavs. That started off a great weekend of sports. If it was warm enough here I definitely would have played golf. I'm not sure why now but for the first time since I last played at Thanksgiving I am feeling the fever to get out and play. Hopefully soon enough (I've got President's Day Weekend circled right now). Anyways, I contented myself to watch golf for 3 days, as well 3 football games and going to the Jazz Bucks game. Sunday was pretty full as well. We had the MoTab Choir broadcast, family dinner, some church and the premiere of 24 to squeeze in. Monday, my actual birthday, was a nice relaxing day. I slept in a bit and woke up to a nice waffle breakfast from my Mommy. After finishing up the 24 premiere, I finally went to The Blindside. What a sweet movie and I'm not ashamed to say I cried just a little bit. Finished off the night with some great Market Street Grill and some time with the parentals before making my return to PTown. A great relaxing weekend for the birthday. This weekend was equally great. A win for the BYU men's volleyball team over the Stanford Cardinal, a whole lot of advanced minesweeper, and a way fun date country dancing(we were robbed out of the novice dance-off crown..... maybe next time.) Today we had a great day of church and a great dinner with friends... Thanks Suz. Not too much to complain about for me... except looking for a job. Anyone know of anything... let me know. Until next week. Peace and Love.

Big 22

“Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not
to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we areto the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.”

- Jerry Seinfeld

Well that's one way to look at birthdays... one depressing way I guess... haha I don't know if I fully subscribe to that theory, or even at all. This birthday I was thinking about all the things I can do this year. In reality it will be an important year for school and my future. This year I will hopefully get into the accounting program here at BYU (depending on how I do in this class....) I will hopefully be getting a job in the next little while and of course there's always the possibility I could meet a lady friend this year. Who knows... If nothing else it will be an interesting year...

Welcome to Web logging

Alright this is my very first blog post... Thanks to the wonderful M Com 320 I will detailing the minutiae of my exhilarating life. Take for instance Friday afternoon... I am sitting in my room minding my own business when I receive a text from my great friend Adam Scott Turville. Long story short at 7 o'clock that night we're rolling down the old Ionefive to Las Vegas to pick up some dishes for Adam's Mom and watch really really rude crude Ryan dude dominominate the Gauchos of UCSB. He threw down the sickest stiff arm I have seen since perhaps Mike Alstott. Watching BYU roll 50-5 was only the beginning of an amazing few days with Dan the man Russell and A Turv. I can only sum up the trip with just some shout outs to the highlights.

· Seeing the funniest show in the history of the History Channel… After People. It probably wasn’t that weird but at one in the morning on no sleep, it was pretty dang funny.

· Watching Rocky IV at 2 am.

· “Black people don’t really like the cold.”

· “Russia has never been a happy place.”

· 2 dudes having a great time in the hot tub around 3 am talking about dating.

· Spending an 1 ½ hours watching the Bellagio fountains.

· Discussing potential sniper threats from various LV Blvd landmarks.

· Discussing the lack of pigeons in the city of Las Vegas.

· Having most of the Strip thinking I was drunk.

· Clever responses to street porn distributors.

· Wonderful tunes on the drive that were enjoyed way too much:

o In the Air Tonight

o Tik Tok

o And most of all…. They Don’t Care About Us

· My rustiness on driving with a clutch… fortunately no stalls but it wasn’t the smoothest pleasure cruise.

All around one of the better weekends I’ve had in a long time. As a closing note, just in case the director of the Bellagio fountains happens to be reading this, Adam, Dan, and I got pretty good at critiquing the choreography of the fountains and also have some great suggestions on future numbers and accompanying choreography. Get at me about that. Well I’m pretty sure no one will actually be reading this but just thinking about this last weekend has been a great way to close out my Sunday. Until next week. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel.
