What's going on in the Tanner Building stairs?

The stairs in the Tanner Building have been under construction for some time now. I was able to find out.... BYU has started a new program to help alleviate housing costs for one lucky family. With the economy the way it is and with so many empty stairwells, BYU's administration could turn a blind eye no longer. Because of federal and state housing regulations (i.e. people can't actually live in a stairwell) the BYU custodial crew has put up construction signs on the stairs where the family is living. Under these unsupposing auspices, a fortunate family is living for free.

What's doing?

I have been doing a lot of thinking about my future lately. I'm debating trying to do a J.D./MAcc. Now this is assuming a lot of things happen. One, that I'll get into the Jr. Core next year. Two, that I'll do well in that and get accepted into the Master's Program. Three, while I'm in the Master's Program I could study for and do well enough on the LSAT that I could get accepted into the Law School at BYU. There's a lot of assumptions there and I don't know if it is all possible. That would really make everything I've ever want to do in school finished. I haven't really wanted to go to law school since I got back from my mission, but it has always been something I have wanted to do. I think I would really enjoy law school. I have loved accounting as well so I could definitely see that as my career. Both degrees would be a strong resume. I would also have a minor in history, my first love. I will have to see how it turns out, but right now those are looking like strong possibilities.

Coke for a stranger

I hadn't completed this assignment until just a while ago. I never really had the chance to buy someone a drink while I was in Vegas this weekend... although the temptation to have some fun with a drunkard was there. I wanted to buy someone dinner but seeing as how I am unemployed I am lucky to be able to buy myself dinner. I had just finished watching the Office and 24 and I was thirsty anyways and had to finish this assignment to buy a random person a Coke. I walked into 711 and unfortunately no one was there other than the proprietor. I quickly realized that I was much too tired to be waiting around for someone to come so I could try and convince him that I wanted to buy him a drink (and that I wasn't deranged...) so I decided on a good alternative. I gave 2 bucks to the clerk and told him to give it to the next person who bought a drink. It felt good in a weird sort of way. I hope it brightened someone's night, even if it was the clerk and it just went right to his pocket. Good night.

Super Sunday

Great night tonight with a few of the boys and Papa Stevens. I had a great Sabbath back in the good old Old Mill Ward. It's always nice to be in the home ward, although I feel a little like a stranger in my own ward with all the people that have moved in the last three years. The funny thing about it is that my family has lived in this ward longer than any other. Every few times I go there it seems like someone asks me if I'm visiting someone... ha ha. Cracks me up every time. The rest of the day was great as well. Ryan, Rich, Nik, my Dad and I saddled up to enjoy the Super Bowl. It was the most I enjoyed watching a Super Bowl in a long time. It turned out to be a great game and the Saints pulled it out which was who I wanted to win. For some reason I can’t stand Peyton and I love Drew Brees. I was happy for him and for New Orleans. OF all the cities in the country that needed a boost like this, it’s New Orleans. I almost wish I could go and just watch the party that will last for weeks. The commercials were pretty good this year as well. Tops have to be the E-Trade babies. Those commercials are so good. Great day.
